El cuidado es la raíz verdadera de la comunidad y está íntimamente ligada a la palabra amor. Luis García Montero reivindica la comunidad, al amor, a través de la palabra cuidados: “Los cuidados, el amor, la vida, la enfermedad…, debemos articular todas estas palabras con un hilo para desembocar en la palabra dignidad”
Y es que los cuidados paliativos constituyen la respuesta más adecuada para disminuir el sufrimiento de quienes se encuentran al final de la vida. Consisten en una combinación de medidas como el control de los síntomas, la comunicación sincera y la atención a la familia.
